Richard Broaddus
(Mr. Oxenby) - This is Richard’s debut with the Balagula Theatre. He has appeared in local community theater productions of The Sound of Music, I Do I Do!, Seussical the Musical and Annie. In a parallel universe Richard is a Respiratory Therapist at the UK Children’s Hospital as well as a portrait photographer on the side (otherwise known as a hobby on steroids). Richard is particularly excited about this production since it is his first non-singing role.

 

 

Ryan Case (Norman) - A native of Winchester, Ryan is pleased to be part of the Balagula Theatre's production of The Dresser. He has also appeared as the title character of BatBoy in BatBoy: The Musical, Vincent VanGogh in Vincent in Brixton, Balagula's Phyro-Giants, Everything You Need to Know Before the World Ends/A Final Evening With the Illuminati, as the physicist Werner Heisenberg in Copenhagen, and has been in several episodic ventures of Balagula's very own “Surprise Theatre.”

 

Edmund Desiato (Sir) – Ed has enjoyed an illustrious theatre career since graduating from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York. He has appeared in innumerable stage and screen roles, including work for Jackie Gleason and the television series “The Edge of Night”. Ed has worked with professional, community and touring theatres for many years, and is currently the house manager for Studio Players’ Carriage House Theatre. He began working with the Balagula Theatre in 2005, directing Neil LaBute’s Bash. Ed has since appeared in several installments of the “Surprise Theatre” series.

 

Greg Jones (Geoffrey Thornton) - Greg Jones has performed in Oklahoma, Anne of the Thousand Days, The Miracle Worker, Winnie the Pooh, Fiddler On The Roof, The Time of Your Life, Murder At Waveland, Scrooge, It’s A Wonderful Life, Big River, Mr. Scrooge, Annie, Oliver, Seabiscuit, Mr. Scrooge’s Christmas, Blood Relations, Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor DreamCoat, Pirates, Southern Baptist Sissies, Letters From Mother, Time Flies, Still On The Run, Bitter Bourbon Blues, A Scrooged-Up Christmas Carol, and as Alfred P. Doolittle in the Ragged Edge Theatre and Maskrafters productions of My Fair Lady. Behind the scenes, Greg has been propmaster, set builder/dresser, costumer, backstage crew, and provider-of-Altoids-to-the-cast for 40-plus productions around the Bluegrass.

 

Adam Luckey (Director) - Adam has worked with Balagula Theatre in one capacity or other since its inception in 2003. He has performed in "Surprise Theatre," and acted in 'Acts of Love,' Phyro Giants!, Some Things You Need To Know Before The World Ends (A Final Evening With The Illuminati), Accidental Death of an Anarchist, and Copenhagen. Adam has also worked with Actors Guild of Lexington, Lexington Children's Theatre, Paragon Music Theatre, the Lexington Ballet, and the Lexington Shakespeare Festival. Adam is an artistic associate with AGL and the resident actor with the Kentucky Historical Society in Frankfort. He would like to thank the cast and crew for their patience, talent, and hard work in bringing this story to the stage.

 

Lesley Maner ( Irene & Stage Manager) – Lesley has worked on and off stage in Central KY for the past five years. Her credits include playing the “Maid” in Dracula, “Emma” in Blood Relations, and “Lee” in Marvin’s Room. She has also assisted backstage or in the light booth for many Studio Players’ productions. Lesley is pleased to be working with such a talented cast and director for The Dresser.

 

Robin Roth (Madge) – Robin has appeared in Balagula's “Surprise Theatre” and in Studio Players' productions of Prelude to a Kiss, Other People's Money, Plaza Suite, and The Sisters Rosensweig. She has also performed locally in ActOut's Sordid Lives and Twilight of the Golds. Offstage, she has served as producer, costumer and props coordinator.

 

Debbie Sharp (Her Ladyship) - Debbie is making her first appearance with Balagula Theatre. She has previously appeared in Studio Players' productions of Blood Relations (The Actress), Nice People Dancing to Good Country Music (Eva June Wilfong), Crimes of the Heart (Chick), Nightwatch (Elaine), and The Price (Esther). In between acting stints she has worked backstage with a myriad of duties from running crew to producer and is the current Past President of Studio Players' Board of Directors.

 

Natasha Williams (Producer) received her theatre education & experience through acting and directing in Kiev, Ukraine. She is a co-founder and co-producer of the Balagula Theatre and formed “Surprise Theatre” at Natasha’s Café. Natasha most recently directed and appeared in Copenhagen for The Balagula Theatre. She would like to thank the cast and the crew for being, in the words of the play "a band of brothers."
