Nora Jane Struthers and Her Band deliver a powerful live show complete with flat-footing, yodeling and original songs so clearly rooted in old time and bluegrass that audience members walk away with the feeling that they've seen something old and new, and utterly unique. Nora Jane is classic Americana. Nora Jane and Her band hit the acoustic scene this July, winning 1st place in the Neo-Traditional Band competition at the Appalachian String Band Fest-(Clifftop, WV). Nora Jane won the award for best new song at this festival and was a finalist in the '09 Telluride Troubadour competition. |

For the past eighteen years, Fran has served as Cantorial Soloist for numerous congregations, conclaves and retreats as well as her home congregation, Anshai Emeth in Peoria, Illinois. Her style is truly that of a Shliach Tzibur, with her warmth and sincerity resulting in congregational participation and communal prayer. Fran's vast repertoire includes High Holiday, Shabbat and Festival music: both contemporary and traditional. She is a member of The Guild of Temple Musicians and the Women Cantors' Network and has attended Mifgash Musicale at HUC, the URJ Workshop for Synagogue Musicians, CAJE and also Hava Nashira Songleaders' Institute where she sang and studied with Debbie Friedman, Jeff Klepper, Craig Taubman, Theodore Bikel and others. |
