Lonesome River Band & Town Mountain: Best of Bluegrass Kickoff Party Bluegrass
Join us for a FREE evening of bluegrass music to celebrate the kickoff of the 2014 Best of Bluegrass Festival.

Lonesome River Band just celebrated their 30th Anniversary with three albums, CHRONOLOGY Volumes One - Three continuing their reputation as one of the most respected names in bluegrass music. Longtime band member and multi-award winning banjo picker, Sammy Shelor has put together a wealth of talent that includes: Brandon Rickman (lead & harmony vocals and guitar); Mike Hartgrove (fiddle); Barry Reed (bass, harmony vocals); and Randy Jones (lead & harmony vocals, mandolin) all performing the distinctive LRB sound fans love.

Town Mountain - Hard-Drivin' Appalachian Bluegrass from Asheville, North Carolina, Town Mountain is becoming one of the preeminent torchbearers of their craft, facing a promising future. "Centered around strong, soulful vocals, and poised to stay put," say Woody Platt of the Steep Canyon Rangers, "Town Mountain are true to bluegrass in all the right ways." Thanks to their relatable, unforgettable lyrics along with their arresting stage presence and swagger, Town Mountain manages to rise above the seemingly bottomless canyon of bluegrass bands touring today.

Reservations available for patrons wishing to dine before the concert. Seating Limited. General Admission for show-only, no reservations required.

Thursday Jun 12th @ 8pm Malcolm Holcombe
Malcolm Holcombe Singer/Songwriter::Folk
Born and raised in the Blue Ridge mountains of North Carolina, Malcolm Holcombe is being recognized by the contemporary U.S and European folk/americana community as a performer of national stature, and an uncommonly unique guitarist/vocalist about whom Rolling Stone magazine says: "Haunted country, acoustic blues and rugged folk all meet [here]..."

The acts of writing songs and playing music have always been hopeful ones, however bleak the subject matter of the songs might be. With "Down the River," Malcolm Holcombe has once again given us a handful of songs that are testimony to the human spirit. In these songs, the old truths still hold. Love, the inner life, music, these are eternal verities and will outlast the trickery and chicanery of those who would turn us against each other. In these strange and troubled times, we need Holcombe's witness as much as we ever have, and it is our good fortune to receive it.

"Holcombe can have fun, conjuring the energy and legacy of loose-spirited jug-band music or country swing. But he can also capture the heartbreak of despair ("Another One Gone") in a way that is sorrowful but never maudlin or sentimental." -Blurt Magazine
