Folk::Rock::Indie An independent band in virtually every sense of the word (no label, no publisher, etc,) The Spring Standards have let their music speak for itself, and have seen a path unfold for them that just seems to get better and better. "The crowd at the Bowery Ballroom hadn't come to see them. Chances are it had never even heard the band. But in a matter of minutes, this loud, energetic trio had made converts of everyone. Tight, soaring harmonies were set against old country twang as the band exuded a pure, childlike joy of playing as many instruments simultaneously as possible. Dressed in a black prom dress, front woman Heather Robb jumped around the stage like the unaffected younger sister of Karen O, banging on pretty much everything in sight, Including a snare drum, keyboard, and glockenspiel." Singer/Songwriter::Pop If you listen closely, you can hear a heartbeat in the songs of Erick Baker. A warm familiar pulse of love and loss echoing from somewhere just under the surface. Written with unguarded lyrical honesty, Erick's songs are passionate confessions that reflect many of our own deeply rooted emotions and secrets. Since releasing his debut EP, It's Getting Too Late To Say It's Early, in 2008, Erick's powerful voice and deeply personal songwriting style have led listeners through music rich with themes central to the emotional cornerstones of their lives. And recently, the message of Erick's music has quickly started to spread. Erick skillfully blends a divergent set of influences - rock, pop, soul, blues, country, and folk - into one seamless, signature sound that defines his distinctive voice. The authenticity of Erick's music is universally appealing. Uniting fans across lines of age, lifestyle and musical taste, Erick's music, once heard, simply can't be ignored. Listen to Erick sing "Fall In Love Again" Live Callaghan's new album, Life In Full Colour, presents the singer as the truly eclectic, dynamic musical force she has become, combining shades of folk, country, rock and pop into a seamless fusion of feeling and melody. While representing the diverse sonic palette, the album's title also captures the thematic underpinnings of the release: From expressing moments of joy, love and happiness to those of sorrow and despair, the record captures a range of human experience within its 12 tracks. Shawn Mullins says, "The world needs more singer songwriters like Callaghan. In a time where mediocrity is seen as brilliant, Callaghan truly shines through as the real deal. Her voice is original and pure, and she is one of the greatest unsigned talents I've ever heard."
